Beginner Drills for Enemy Buster Practice

This is less of a guide and more of a supplement to a training program we’re doing for individuals wanting to get more involved on buster days.

I already created the The Rascal Guide to Enemy Buster but it’s more geared toward more advanced players that already know the basics.  But it’s very detailed and can be hard to follow especially without knowing the basics.

Below are the Drills we use in our Buster Training.  When we’re in group chat talking about which drills we’re doing, you can follow these Drill numbers and we will give you a target.  Use the targets we provide to complete these drills.

Drill 1. Basic attack. Take a target, park on the nearest resource tile. Attack from that tile. Park back on the resource tile.

Drill 2. Continuous March Attack. Take a target, park on the nearest resource tile. Attack from that tile, after the attack lands then attack 2 more times quickly. Park back on resource tile.

Drill 3. Path Attack. Take a target, park on the nearest resource tile. Pick another resource tile where the target is in a straight path to the next tile. Begin travel to the next tile but before you arrive, attack the target. Park back on the resource tile.

Drill 4. Path Ash. Take a target, park on the nearest resource tile. Pick another resource tile where the target is in a straight path to the next tile. Begin travel to the next tile but before you arrive, completely destroy the base as fast as you can. Park back on the resource tile.

Drill 5. Sneaky Defense. Garrison your neighbor. Then Garrison your neighbors neighbor. Park your troops in 5 different bases before returning home.

Drill 6. Sneaky Offense. Garrison an ally that’s sitting next to an enemy base. From that ally base, send an attack with your Garrison.

Drill 7. Quick Defense. Garrison an ally across the cluster by using a resource tile past the straight path to travel faster.

Drill 8. Cat and Mouse. Park on a resource tile. Then travel to another resource tile. Travel to 3 more resource tiles. Pretend like your trying to intercept someone else trying to travel to other resource tiles (switch tiles quickly is the goal).

Other drills will be given in group chat with real targets with real troop kills.  Be sure to get good at the drills above before proceeding.  You can do them over and over until you can get fast with them and familiar with the processes.

Group Chat Drills

Drill A.  Use a Path attack on a target we provide.  It’s a real player (volunteer) with real kills.  When you click a base to attack, the screen flashes and the target alliance will get the red attack square showing one of their members are under fire.  The idea is to make this alert as short as possible, so you’ll want the path to be right over the base and then click the attack at the very very last second.  See Drill 3 above for practice.  We will base performance/success on the number of seconds warning the target gets after the attack.

Drill B.  Use a Resource Tile to travel to Garrison against a real attack.  See Drill 7 above to practice.  But this time will be a real attacker and you will be further away from the target than they are, so you will need to use a tile to create a path to the target being attacked so you can provide Garrison before the target lands.

Drill C.  Attack a resource tile with an enemy squad already there.  You will be given a target, do not pick a random tile.  But here’s the catch, this will be a moving target, and you’ll have to try to intercept the tile it’s traveling to.  It’s classic cat and mouse, just like Drill 8 above.  But this is a good skill to practice, I’ve used it pretty much every buster day.  There’s a video on the Rascal Buster guide, but I’m putting it here too for reference.

Some context for the video.  Keep in mind for cat and mouse, you have to be good at being both the cat (attacker) and the mouse (dodge).  The cat and mouse doesn’t really start until about 2:30 into the video.  I found a cluster of tile targets and started picking them off.  Then a larger account sees me doing this and tries to swoop in and get me at a tile.  I sent the attack to him first, but he dodges.  Then I realize it would be reckless to let him land without scouting first and then he made me the mouse while I tried to get a scout report to see what I was up against.  The rest of the video is me dodging him trying to land on my tile.  I notice him going for my base so I go to the VS menu to teleport back, I wait until one hit lands and then get out of there.  Why 1 hit?  Because I wanted to see his squad size LOL. And I had no troops at home because at the start of the video I sent my excess troops to a far away resource tile to keep them safe.  Anyways, here’s the video.
