This very vague description of the location of loot boxes isn’t very helpful at all. Fortunately there’s a website that shows the coordinates of these loot boxes. They just need to be fire bombed to uncover them.
First you need to unlock the skill in the Engineer Profession.
Then visit this site to find coordinates on the map:

For now let’s just focus on Level 1, 2, and 3. Filter it out on the list.
Pick a coordinate on the list and then find it on the map.
Click the Profession button and click Fire Bomb. It should raise the temps to above zero degrees and reveal the loot box. Then send troops to break the ice around it. Then send a scout to grab the loot!
Note: The reason we’re doing just Level 1, 2, and 3 for now is because 1 fire bomb will raise the temp enough to unhide the loot. If you go Level 4 or above you’ll need to coordinate 2 people fire bombing at the same time.
